Easy July 4th Photo Prop!

Just like all months with a holiday, I am always jazzed up about getting in the spirit because the colors are so awesome!  We are a very patriotic family and finding a reason to decorate or take pictures of my kiddos is right up my alley with good ole fashion RED,WHITE & BLUE!
I was cruising through....

minding my own business when all of a sudden this white wooden crate shouted out "JANETTE"!  I couldn't help myself so I picked it up and knew exactly what I needed to do!! Please tell me others out there have had this product pull before!?  I snatched up some red and blue paint and found some silver sticker stars!  Lets get crafty!

With the help of my husband for opinions, I decided to paint the outer edges blue and the crate slats in alternating red & white for the flag look.  The good thing is that it was already white, so that saved me on extra paint and time finishing my project!  I started to notice that you could still see the wood grains through and started to notice mistakes where I got blue on the white or red where it wasn't suppose to be-- but then I justified it because the flag itself is not perfect when flying across the USA and has an old rustic feel to it, so I left the mistakes and rustic look alone.

Silver stars were added to the ends to finalize my easy July 4th Prop!
I happened to be signed up for every daily deal out there if you haven't noticed from previous posts. I got a daily deal from Very Jane for adorable ruffle rompers and pants that were perfect to finalize my photo prop idea!  If you missed out on that deal, go sign up now for their emails!  Or you can go to the actual boutique Flower Girl Accessories and snag your next outfit!

I got the romper for Rayne (pictured here) and a pair of ruffle pants for Reese who was napping when I was ready to take pictures, but will get her and Ryan with his flag shirt very soon!

Happy Crafting & getting in the spirit of July 4th!

Disclaimer: I am in no way paid for my inserts for Very Jane, Flower Girl Accessories or JoAnn Fabrics.  I am merely a satisfied customer sharing my love for great places/products!
